My virtual assistant

I built it with Claude, and I'd now find it hard to work without. It knows me well enough to pick up a job from a one-line note, and it keeps going after I log off, so what I hand over at night is usually done by breakfast.

A memory it keeps itself

It writes and maintains its own knowledge vault: my projects, hundreds of notes, and the decisions we've made and why. When a fact changes, it retires the old one and notes the reason.

Knowing what's in flight

With that memory behind it, I rarely explain anything twice. It knows what's on this week, which jobs are waiting on someone else, and what I've promised and by when.

Work off my plate

I hand it a task with a line of context, and it comes back done, with a note on what it did and anything it needs from me. Bigger jobs it splits across a team of helper agents, then checks their work before any of it reaches me.

Things it does unasked

Every weekday starts with a briefing, Mondays add a plan for the week, and on Sundays it tells me what's on at school. It tracks my action items automatically, and it reminds me when I've gone too long without catching up with someone.

Learning how I work

It has picked up how I write, which is different in an email, a quick message and a talk, so drafts arrive in my voice. When I correct it, it fixes the mistake and rechecks everything that fact was holding up. Ask for the same kind of job twice and it turns the method into a routine.

What we've built together

Most of the code in the tools above came out of sessions with it, and so did this site. It has also helped me build talk decks, short animated videos for my talks and a dashboard for my day, and prep for roundtables, panels, and any other engagement.

I still make the calls on what ships and when a job is done.
